JULIE ESPINA
Working to be of service to others has always been a driving factor in my life. I was drawn to Washington, D.C. to pursue a degree in International Studies at American University, a school known for its commitment to public service. After graduating from AU's School of International Service, I was eager to begin a career through which I could promote the common good. I spent a few years working in the non-profit field, supporting programs which allowed volunteers to take part in both direct service, and in projects that addressed structural causes of injustice. Through this work, I learned how important it is for communities to have access to basic resources in order to respond to the many challenges of our world. What's more, I learned how frequently communities don't have this access.
I came to G&H International Services with a desire to be more involved in strengthening communities. Taking part in the company's mission of improving disaster response allows me to fulfill this desire. I am honored to be working in support of first responders, and I hope that my contribution can help them continue their heroic work.
When I am not at work, I enjoy spending as much time as possible with my family (which often means travelling to Pennsylvania and New York), drawing, and learning how to lead a more sustainable life.
