Emergency Operation’s Virtual Future
The U.S. H1N1 outbreak in 2009 gave the University of Oregon a chance implement a new approach to handle large scale incidents. Using cloud-based technology on a single software platform, the University of Oregon was able to connect 139 people from different university departments to a virtual emergency operations center (VEOC).

Since then the VEOC has become a standard part of how the university, city, and fire departments of Oregon conduct incident management. Read more to find out the reasons why the leaders of these agencies think VEOC’s are the way of the future.
