Social Media Bill Aims to Increase Public-Private Collaboration
Representative Susan Brooks (R-IN) introduced H.R. 4263, known as the Social Media Working Group Act of 2014, to amend the Homeland Security Act of 2002. According to Representative Brooks' press release, the bill authorizes the Department of Homeland Security to establish a social media working group, expanding "both the membership and influence of the Department of Homeland Security’s Virtual Social Media Working Group."
